Dating from circa 1900–1920, these antique rose cut diamond stud earrings are a striking example of Edwardian to early Art Deco design. Each earring features an estimated 1ct rose cut diamond, totalling approximately 2ct for the pair. With softly domed proportions (approx. 6.5-6.75mm in diameter and 2mm in height), the stones display H/I colour and VS2/SI1 clarity. They’re set in square silver fronts with finely crafted claw settings that enhance their incredible sparkle and distinctive antique character.
 
The silver settings are soldered onto layered gold backs, constructed in a white-yellow-white gold formation, with white gold posts. The metal tests at approximately 14.78ct via XRF analysis, which aligns closely with 15ct gold, a standard widely used in Britain until 1932. This supports our belief that the current earring backs, stamped "14k", are likely later replacements. Had the earrings been hallmarked at the time of manufacture, they would typically display both silver and gold marks. The presence of a single modern "14k" stamp is therefore inconsistent with the original construction and era.
 
Measuring 7.5mm x 7.5mm at the face, the studs offer a strong visual presence while remaining comfortable and secure in wear. In excellent antique condition, they showcase the refined craftsmanship and subtle sophistication characteristic of their period.
